The University of Minnesota is offering free admission to home athletic events to federal employees during the government shutdown. The school made the announcement on Thursday afternoon.

Gopher Athletics released a statement, saying that officials who “present their valid government ID at the Gopher Athletics Ticket Office will receive complimentary admission for themselves and one guest.” The offer is only available during the day of the event and must be redeemed in person.

According to the release, the offer began Thursday night and will be valid through the government shutdown.

Minnesota joins Ohio State University, who also started providing free admission to federal government employees for athletic events a week ago. At both universities, two complimentary tickets are provided to any home sporting event with valid government identification.

The government shutdown is approaching one month.
