Another Minnesota offensive lineman has entered the NCAA transfer database.

According to Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Jack York has entered his name into the transfer portal and will explore other opportunities. He would be the second offensive lineman and third overall player from the 2018 recruiting class to leave the program.

Entering the transfer portal doesn’t guarantee that a player is leaving, but it does allow him to see what other opportunities might be available. He would be allowed to return to Minnesota if that is his best option.

York is a 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive lineman out of Dallas, Texas. He was a former three-star prospect out of high school. Offensive lineman Grant Norton and quarterback Vic Viramontes were the other two departures from the 2018 class.

Head coach P.J. Fleck put an emphasis on recruiting big-bodied offensive lineman in the 2018 class. Along with York, that class included Daniel Faalele and Curtis Dunlap Jr. In total, the Gophers brought five offensive lineman to Minneapolis in 2018.
