Minnesota Sports and Events is looking to bring the B1G Championship to U.S. Bank Stadium, John Shipley of the Pioneer Press reports.

Since the splitting of the B1G into two divisions in 2011, only Lucas Oil Stadium has exclusively hosted the game. That could change in 2025 if Minnesota is able to bring the championship game to the state.

“We have communicated to the Big Ten that our community would love to host Big Ten football championships here at USBS, the best stadium in the country,” Minnesota Sports and Events president and CEO Wendy Williams Blackshaw said Wednesday.

The stadium has already served as host to both a Super Bowl in 2018 and the state looks to continue bringing high-profile events to Minneapolis.

This week, Minneapolis played host to B1G Basketball Media Days, and the city could be a viable option for the B1G Championship. We’ll see how this shapes up if the conference does indeed begin accepting bids for the host site.
