Minnesota QB commit has huge night in HS opener
A potential future starting quarterback for the Golden Gophers had quite the night during the first game of his senior season.
Jacob Knuth, who’s the top-rated quarterback and player in South Dakota for the 2022 class, had 6 total touchdowns (4 passing, 2 rushing). He also completed 10 of 14 passes for 270 yards.

He committed to Minnesota on Feb. 27 of this year and is considered a 3-star prospect per 247Sports composite ranking. He’s also ranked as the No. 55 quarterback in the country for 2022 and at No. 792 recruit overall, regardless of position.
Knuth originally had 2 crystal ball predictions to Minnesota before originally committing there. They both came about a week before he announced his commitment. He also had interest from a bunch of different P5 schools, such as Kansas State, Iowa, Air Force, and Army.
Knuth’s next game will be against O’Gorman and that will take place on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. ET.
