Minnesota RB has to be carted off the field during Illinois game
Shortly after Trey Potts put Minnesota up 7-0, the Golden Gophers running back was taken off the field in game against Illinois. It appeared that Potts suffered a foot injury.
At the time of the injury, Potts had three carries for 49 yards along with what was his first touchdown of the season. His touchdown run gave the Golden Gophers a 7-0 lead over Illinois in the first quarter.

The loss of Potts is big for Minnesota. Last week, the redshirt freshman had three rushes for 45 rushing yards in Minnesota’s loss at Maryland. He came into Saturday’s game against Illinois with 114 rushing yards off of an impressive 7.6 yards per carry.
Career TD No. ☝️ for @_treypotts.

Last season, he played in just two games and was eligible to redshirt.
Potts was a three-star recruit out of Williamsport, PA. He had three other ‘Power Five’ offers in addition to Minnesota from Rutgers, Syracuse and Virginia. The rest of his offers included the MAC and the Ivy League, highlighting how under-recruited he was coming out of Pennsylvania.
