P.J. Fleck added a second member to Minnesota’s 2020 recruiting class on Monday evening.
The Gophers received a commitment from 3-star defensive end Aaron Witt, ranked as one of the top five players out of the state of Minnesota. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound lineman is now the second to commit in the 2020 class.
Witt made the announcement via Twitter on Monday night.
“I’d like to thank all the coaches that have recruited me,” Witt said. “You guys have made my dreams come true! I also would like to thank my family, friends and coaches that have pushed me and been there for the first 17 years of my life. Most importantly, I’d like to thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for blessing me with this opportunity. Row The Boat!!!”

Witt is ranked near the top 500 players in the 2020 class and is considered to be a top 30 defensive end, according to 247Sports. He’s currently listed as the No. 4 overall player out of Minnesota.
In addition to receiving an offer from the Gophers, Iowa and Iowa State also had interest in the defensive end.
It’s still pretty early to get a good gauge on where Minnesota’s 2020 recruiting class stacks up compared to the rest of the B1G. But Fleck is currently doing well on the 2019 recruiting trail, as the Gophers own the No. 38 class nationally.
