Minnesota is set to lose some depth in its offensive backfield following a report from the 247Sports Transfer Portal Twitter account that a running back has entered the transfer portal.

RB Mar’Keise Irving, a former 4-star recruit, rushed for 699 yards with 4 touchdowns last season as a freshman on a 5.3 yards-per-carry average. Irving appeared in 12 games and led Minnesota with 966 all-purpose yards. He also caught 8 passes for 73 yards and returned 8 kickoffs for 194 yards.

Irving was a 4-star recruit according to 247Sports, and was ranked the No. 3 prospect in Illinois. He had 24 offers coming out of high school.
