Minnesota has scheduled a future home-and-home series with Cal out of the Pac-12. The school made the announcement on Tuesday.

The future home-and-home series will be in the 2028 and 2029 seasons. Minnesota will host the first matchup on Sept. 16, 2028. The following year, the game will be held at Cal on Sept. 1. It will mark the seventh and eighth times the two programs have met on the field.

In 2006 and 2009, the two teams had a home-and-home series, with Cal winning both games. The Bears defeated the Golden Gophers 42-17 in 2006 in Berkeley and followed it with a 35-21 victory in Minneapolis in 2009.

Cal leads the all-time series 4-2.

Minnesota’s non-conference schedule is booked from the 2020 season through 2025. The Golden Gophers have also scheduled a home-and-home series with Mississippi State out of the SEC for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
