It didn’t take long for this Minnesota-Michigan matchup to get going.

After blocking a Wolverines punt, Minnesota was able to cash in on the first score of the game thanks to a Tanner Morgan passing touchdown. He was able to roll to his right and find tight end Ko Kieft for a 14-yard strike into the endzone.

This was Kieft’s first touchdown of his collegiate career. He had to sit out some of last season because of injuries.

Coming into this game, Kieft only had three receptions for 36 yards, two of them coming during his 2017 season, and then the other during his 2018 season.

For Morgan, he’s starting his 2020 season with a bang and is looking to continue to build off of his outstanding 2019 season. During that season, he had 30 passing touchdowns for the Gophers to just seven interceptions.

He also threw for over 3,250 yards and had a 66% completion percentage. The year before that, he threw for just over 1400 yards with nine touchdowns to just six interceptions.

The game is currently being nationally broadcasted on ABC.
