Minnesota has won a Big Ten basketball game for just the second time this season. The Gophers stunned the Scarlet Knights, ending a double-digit comeback in the final 75 seconds with a buzzer-beater for the upset victory.

Jamison Battle was the hero, draining a 3-pointer on the final shot.

Rutgers led by as many as 14 points (53-39, 15:07) in the second half. The Scarlet Knights went cold down the stretch, not making a field goal in the final 3:09.

With 1:15 left, a pair of free throws had Rutgers up 72-60. The Gophers made 6 of their last 8 field goal attempts. Minnesota only led for 1 second of game time.

Minnesota’s only taste of March Madness will likely be the Big Ten Tournament next week in Chicago as the Gophers are just 8-20 overall and 2-16 in B1G play. Still, there’s something special about a buzzer-beater this time of year.
