Minnesota TE earns high praise from NFL Draft expert
Minnesota tight end Ko Kieft isn’t lighting up the box score, but scouts and NFL draft analysts are still noticing his play.
Kieft has earned a reputation as one of the best blockers at the tight end position in the entire country. Here’s one opinion from draft analyst Ryan Roberts:
Ko Kieft (Minnesota) might be the best blocking tight end in the 2022 NFL Draft class. Dude can overwhelm at the POA.

Kieft made several impact plays as a blocker in Minnesota’s win over Colorado in Week 3. Here’s one block that led to a rushing touchdown for the Golden Gophers:
The entire #Gophers OL executed this counter play to perfection and tight end Ko Kieft delivered a massive 🥞! His run blocking has been outstanding during the first three games.

Kieft hasn’t proven to be much of a receiving threat this year, as he has just 1 reception for 4 yards on the season. He has 1 receiving touchdown in his career across 3+ seasons with Minnesota.
However, it’s possible he could still make his way toward a professional career in a system that values run blocking from its tight ends.
Minnesota is 2-1 this season and will host Bowling Green in Week 4.
