Things are rolling in Minneapolis!

Earlier in the week, Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck inked a long-term extension to stay with the program through 2028. That gives the Gophers some stability for the future while they try to nail down a B1G West title in 2021.

On the field, Minnesota’s backfield has continued to rotate while juggling the serious injuries to key pieces, but those injuries have not slowed down the offense. Minnesota is averaging just over 31 points per game during its current 4-game winning streak with Illinois on deck.

Thursday evening, the Gophers unveiled their uniform combination for Week 10, and it’s another good one. Minnesota will go with maroon helmets and jerseys on top of white pants and cleats.

The helmet has an additional detail with a red, white, and blue row of stripes coming right down the center of the helmet. That detail is likely a nod to Veteran’s Day, coming up next Thursday.

Check it out:

A win over Illinois will move the Gophers to 7-2 (5-1 in the B1G) with 3 games to play. That closing stretch to the year will not be easy with matchups against Iowa, Indiana, and Wisconsin, but a B1G West title remains a serious possibility for Minnesota.

Saturday’s kickoff vs. the Illini is set for 12 pm EST on ESPN2.
