Minnesota football is gearing up for a Week 9 visit from Rutgers. The Gophers are also rocking a uniform combination that is a little bit… darker than normal.

Traditionally known for their maroon and gold combination, the Gophers are ditching the gold altogether for Halloween weekend. Instead, Minnesota is going with black jerseys and pants and a maroon helmet.

On the helmet, Minnesota is utilizing the traditional “M” logo in black. The helmet also uses black and white accents in place of the traditional gold.

Hopefully Minnesota plays a bit better this week in the unique look. The Gophers have lost 3 straight as a part of a tough October schedule to fall off the pace in the B1G West.

Getting a rebound win over Rutgers would be a nice boost for the program entering the stretch run in November.
