Minnesota uses 2nd-quarter run for first Floyd of Rosedale lead in nearly half a decade
Minnesota is trying to pull off an upset and keep pace in the B1G West standing for Week 11. Oh, and Floyd of Rosedale is up for grabs with the Gophers facing Iowa in Iowa City.
At the half, the Gophers have a 13-10 lead after rattling off 10-unanswered points to close the second quarter. That includes a controversial ruling on Ko Kieft’s touchdown and a late field goal heading into the break.
Not only is Minnesota looking for its first win in the rivalry since 2014, but the Gophers have also gone a long time since leading vs. the Hawkeyes. It has been 61 months since the last time Iowa held a lead at any point in the battle for Floyd of Rosedale. The last lead came back in 2016.
Now, it’s up to P.J. Fleck’s squad to make enough adjustments to keep the pressure on in the second half. A win will keep the Gophers in control of their own destiny in the B1G West for the final 2 games of the season.
