One of the B1G’s top receivers has eclipsed a career milestone in the season opener against South Dakota State.

Entering the season, Tyler Johnson needed just 13 yards to eclipse the 2,000-yard mark for his career. He was able to surpass that total in Week 1 for Minnesota, and hit the new career milestone.

Johnson is fresh off a season in which he ranked second in the B1G in receiving yardage, totaling 1,169 yards. He also had 12 touchdown catches last year.

Johnson could’ve tested the NFL Draft waters after a huge junior season, but opted to come back for his senior season.

He’s considered to be one of the top receivers in the B1G and could be one of the better pass-catchers in the B1G, as well. If Minnesota finds ways to get him the ball throughout the season, he should put up big numbers again for the Gophers.
