Boye Mafe is one of the more intriguing pass-rushers in the B1G. While not an every-down player for the Gophers, he is becoming more and more of a force.

After last weekend’s 27-22 loss to Iowa, Mafe’s six sacks lead all Gophers defenders.

When asked about his improvement, Mafe said he’s always looking two steps ahead — and his answer was unique.

The Gophers are 6-4 heading into this weekend’s game with Indiana in Bloomington and have the luxury of being bowl eligible regardless of their final two outcomes. After the Hoosiers they will host No. 19 Wiscosin to close out the season.

With a depleted backfield due to injury, Mafe and the defense will need to keep the pressure on if they want to win out.

Kickoff between the Gophers and the Hoosiers is set for 2:30 PM on Saturday, Nov. 20.
