Minnesota football is starting to become known for its offensive line play. This become even more so after PFF released its grades for the top O-lines in the Power 5.

The Golden Gophers (84.9) were the second-highest graded offensive line behind Arkansas (88.3). Baylor (83.8), Florida (83.3) and USC (83.1) were the other groups that got featured.

The Minnesota offensive line has done a great job of opening up running lanes for RB Mohamed Ibrahim when he’s been healthy. Ibrahim has played in seven games for the Golden Gophers this season and has 955 yards rushing with 13 touchdowns.

John Michael Schmitz is a key part of that offensive line. At 6-foot-4, 320 pounds his size definitely plays to his advantage in the trenches. He’s played in eight games for Minnesota this season.

Minnesota is now 5-3 and sits at third in the B1G West. Minnesota plays Nebraska in Week 10.

The offensive line will have another chance to show just how dominant they are. Kickoff from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln is set for noon ET on ESPN2.
