NFL Network analyst gives major shoutout to former Minnesota DE Boye Mafe
Former Minnesota defensive end Boye Mafe is on the radar of another NFL Draft analyst.
On Sunday, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah took to Twitter to compliment the former star Golden Gopher. The analyst called Mafe a “first round talent” because of his production and explosiveness. The praise comes after Mafe turned some heads during the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
“Just finished studying Minnesota edge rusher Boye Mafe. The splash plays at the Sr. Bowl weren’t a fluke,” Jeremiah said. “This dude is explosive!! He’s a first round talent.”

Mafe was the team leader for Minnesota along the defensive front during the 2021 season. He led the team with 7 sacks to go along with 34 tackles and 3 quarterback hurries on the year.
Despite his production and insane athleticism, Mafe hasn’t been a first-round projection in many draft boards. That means he could be an absolute steal at some point.
Mafe will still have opportunities to improve his stock and jump up to a first-round status. Regardless of where he’s picked, the former Minnesota defensive lineman has an incredibly high ceiling. Somebody is going to get a great edge rusher.
