For the third time in three weeks, Minnesota needed all 60 minutes to get a win. Somehow, the Gophers have managed to get wins under the most improbable circumstances.

Minnesota is 3-0 winning those three games by a combined 13 points. The last two weeks, they’ve needed touchdowns in the final minute to get a victory. On Saturday, the Gophers got a 35-32 win over Georgia Southern, thanks to a Tyler Johnson catch from Tanner Morgan.

After the game, Fleck spoke with the media about his team playing in close games and finding ways to win. He says it’s all part of the learning experience.

“We’re gaining the experience and there are so many teaching moments,” Fleck said. “It’s constantly educating.”

Yes, Minnesota has played ugly football in the first three weeks, but it has found ways to win games. In the end, that’s really all that matters. Now, the Gophers will enter B1G play with an undefeated record. First, they’ll have an off week before heading to Purdue to start conference play.

“We’re going to start with a self-scout of ourselves and work from there,” Fleck said about entering B1G play in a few weeks.

Minnesota has been 3-0 in non-conference play all three seasons under Fleck. Now, it’s hoping that translates to a better record in conference play. We’ll see if these tight games pay off during the conference schedule.
