Minnesota fans have been waiting to see if QB Tanner Morgan would be back for this week’s game against Northwestern.
Morgan was initially injured during the final drive of last week’s loss to Iowa. After back-to-back sacks, Morgan was removed from the game with head coach P.J. Fleck indicating after the game that he was not in a condition to return to action.
Fortunately, Fleck updated Morgan’s status during an on-field interview for ESPN’s College GameDay Saturday morning. Fleck indicated that Morgan is good to go and indicated he “went through the whole protocol.”
Morgan is undoubtedly a key piece for the Gophers and is in the midst of a memorable season with the offense. Hopefully, he sparks Minnesota to a bounce-back win against Northwestern.
