PJ Fleck addressed the injury to starting quarterback Tanner Morgan following the Week 10 win over Nebraska. In that game, Morgan missed all of the second half with backup QB Athan Kaliakmanis rallying the Gophers.

Fleck did confirm after the game that Morgan is dealing with an injury. Per Fleck that is an “upper-body injury” but he did not elaborate.

Morgan was sacked hard at the end of the first half, but it is not clear if that was the play that led to Morgan’s injury or second-half absence. Against Illinois, Morgan was diagnosed with a concussion after leaving the game.

Morgan was 6-for-8 passing with 38 yards in the first half against Nebraska but did not lead the offense to any points. Kaliakmanis rallied the Minnesota offense and led the team to 20 second-half points in the comeback win.

Hopefully, Morgan is okay and gets the all-clear soon. Minnesota has a tough November schedule with rivalry games against Iowa and Wisconsin still to come.
