PJ Fleck explains how Bryce Williams' youth football button foreshadowed performance vs. Nebraska
The Minnesota Golden Gophers had a big day on offense versus the Nebraska Cornhuskers as they won at home 30-23. The offense for Minnesota accounted for 396 total yards of offense with 214 of them coming from the rushing game.
One player that had a significant game was redshirt junior running back Bryce Williams, who rushed for 127 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries against the defense of Nebraska.
Williams has a 56-yard rushing touchdown with 2:12 left in the game to put the game out of reach for Nebraska to come back from. This is the second 100-yard rushing performance in his collegiate career.
Two people who knew Williams would have a great game is William’s mom and Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck. Earlier in the week, Fleck was given by Bryce’s mom a button of Williams while he was in Pop Warner football.
This would be a big sign that Williams would have a big, breakout game.
Nugget: #Gophers coach PJ Fleck told KFAN's @jgkfan post-game Bryce Williams' mother gave him button of Bryce playing Pop Warner football. Fleck put it on his desk this week, thinking the overlooked running back might have a big day. He did: 17 carries, 127 yards, 56-yard TD run.

What an awesome story involving the Minnesota running back.
With the win, Minnesota improved to 4-2 on the season and is 2-1 in B1G play.
