The Minnesota Golden Gophers improved to 2-0 on the season as they routed Western Illinois 62-10 on Saturday, September 10. Head coach P.J. Fleck was impressed with the ‘workmanlike mentality’ his players brought to the game.

“Workmanlike squared,” Fleck said postgame, via the Pioneer Press. “This team has … their own internal expectations … of the style of play that they want to play with. It really doesn’t matter the opponent. The challenge of college football is being able to play your best football week in, week out.”

Fleck has unique ways of describing how his team performs throughout the season, and it is usually a must-see during his press periods throughout the week.

The Gophers have been impressive in their opening 2 weeks with blowouts again New Mexico State 38-0 and Western Illinois 62-10. The Gophers will play lowly Colorado before their first real test in B1G play as they will head to East Lansing to face No. 14 Michigan State.

You can watch the Gophers take on the Buffaloes at home in the twin cities next Saturday, September 17, at 3:30 ET, on ESPN2.
