PJ Fleck tabs one true freshman as likely to play for Minnesota in 2022
PJ Fleck met the media Thursday evening to discuss how Minnesota’s camp is progressing to this point. Among other things, Fleck highlighted the work of one true freshman player.
That player is 3-star safety Coleman Bryson, a defender out of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School (Ga.) for the class of 2022. Fleck and his staff have been impressed by Bryson’s quick work with the defense, particularly considering that Bryson is still physically raw as a true freshman.
During his comments, Fleck went on to say that Bryson is likely to get on the field and see game action as a true freshman in 2022. Whether those reps are on special teams or with the defense remains to be seen, but it sounds like Bryson is already off to a huge fall camp with the Gophers.
Note: #Gophers are excited about true freshman safety Coleman Bryson in preseason camp. The North Carolina kid has picked up the defense quickly, has played fast and has done it while still needing to develop physically, PJ Fleck said. Plan is Bryson will play in 2022 season.
