Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck is ready to be a little aggressive in the transfer portal during the offseason.

Fleck spoke after his team’s 18-6 win over West Virginia in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on Tuesday evening and confirmed that he’s always recruiting no matter what.

“There is going to be another wave of the portal come after the bowl games and then after spring ball,” Fleck said. “You are constantly recruiting, even transfers, who can come in at the end of May.”

The transfer portal will continue to be used heavily for as long as it stays in college football so this sort of comment shouldn’t be surprising at all.

Fleck’s Gophers finished 9-4 overall this season after the game on Tuesday night was won on the ground.

Running back Ky Thomas finished with 144 yards and 1 touchdown on 21 carries, while Daniel Faalele also ran one in as well.
