Rashod Bateman makes a key step toward return from IR
The Baltimore Ravens caught the injury bug heavy and early at the offensive skilled positions during the off-season.
On Sept. 1, former Minnesota star and rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman was placed on IR to undergo groin surgery. Bateman has not practiced with the team since Aug. 10.
There is progress for Bateman as Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that Bateman will be practicing this week as the team prepares for the undefeated Denver Broncos this Sunday. While there is still no timeline for the former Minnesota star, this is a solid step in the direction for him and the Ravens.
Obviously, this is good news in terms of Bateman. But also important to point out that he hasn’t practiced since Aug. 10. He’s going to need a ramp up period here. https://t.co/FKgfBcv99P

Baltimore drafted Bateman in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the No. 27 overall pick so he can be the main target for quarterback Lamar Jackson. There is still potential for Bateman to play three-quarters of a season if he can practice less than a month after groin surgery.
