Report: Decision made on return of Minnesota head coach Richard Pitino for 2020-21
Minnesota basketball had an OK season in 2019-20.
That season — which consisted of an 8-12 record in B1G play and 15-16 mark overall — came to an early close after the Golden Gophers won their final game of the season. That final game was a first round Big Ten Tournament victory over Northwestern on Wednesday.
Much has changes since then, of course.
Since the coronavirus outbreak and the college basketball season came to a close, a source told Stadium — via Jeff Goodman — that Minnesota head coach Richard Pitino is set to return for next season with the Gophers:
Minnesota’s Richard Pitino will return as head coach next season, source told @stadium.
