Minnesota basketball had an OK season in 2019-20.

That season — which consisted of an 8-12 record in B1G play and 15-16 mark overall — came to an early close after the Golden Gophers won their final game of the season. That final game was a first round Big Ten Tournament victory over Northwestern on Wednesday.

Much has changes since then, of course.

Since the coronavirus outbreak and the college basketball season came to a close, a source told Stadium — via Jeff Goodman — that Minnesota head coach Richard Pitino is set to return for next season with the Gophers:

During Pitino’s first seven seasons at Minnesota, he has accumulated a 126-108 record.
