Former Minnesota head coach Tim Brewster is reportedly heading to Gainesville to join Dan Mullen’s staff at Florida.

FootballScoop reported on Thursday that Brewster, previously the assistant head coach and tight ends coach at North Carolina, is leaving Chapel Hill to join the Gators. His role with the program was not known at the time of the report.

Brewster spent one season at North Carolina.

From 2007-10, Brewster served as the head coach at Minnesota, compiling a 15-30 record with the Golden Gophers. He led the program to back-to-back bowl games in 2008 and 2009 but was terminated midway through the 2010 season, following a 1-6 start.

Since his time at Minnesota, Brewster has been an assistant coach at Mississippi State, Florida State, Texas A&M and North Carolina.
