This is not good news.

According to Tom Steele with the Dallas Morning News, former Minnesota and NFL running back Marion Barber III was arrested Wednesday in Denton County, Texas. The arrest is a result of two misdemeanor charges of “criminal mischief” from a July 2018 incident. No other details on the charges were given.

Barber played for the Golden Gophers from 2001-04. He posted back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons in 2003-04 and is ranked fifth on the school’s all-time rushing list with 3,276 yards. He is second on the all-time list in rushing touchdowns with 35.

Barber played seven seasons in the NFL and accumulated over 4,700 yards on the ground. He earned one Pro Bowl appearance and last appeared for the Chicago Bears in 2011.
