Another member of Minnesota’s basketball team is reportedly entering the NCAA transfer portal.

Per Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press, Gabe Kalscheur will enter his name into the transfer database and explore opportunities outside of Minnesota. However, he is open to a return to Minneapolis.

Kalscheur joins Marcus Carr, Jamal Mashburn Jr., Sam Freeman, Jarvis Omersa and Tre Williams in the portal. All have entered since Minnesota made the change at head coach, firing Richard Pitino and hiring Ben Johnson.

Last season, Kalscheur played in 21 games for the Gophers, missing the final stretch of the season because of injury. He started in every game he was available and averaged 9.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists on the year. The Gophers finished 14-15.

In his previous two seasons at Minnesota, Kalscheur averaged double-digit point totals. He’s bee an excellent 3-point threat in Minnesota’s offense, shooting 34.5% from behind the 3-point line in his three seasons.

For his career, Kalscheur averages 10.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game and is a 37.6% shooter. He’s played in 88 games with the Golden Gophers.
