Minnesota won’t have a decision on backup center Matz Stockman’s availability for its Round of 64 matchup against Louisville on Thursday until just before tipoff, according to a report.
Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press reported that Richard Pitino has listed Stockman as a “game-time decision,” for Thursday’s game. However, it’s doubtful that the backup center will see the floor against the Cardinals.
Stockman suffered from concussion-like symptoms after taking a shot to the head in Minnesota’s matchup against Purdue in the B1G Tournament on Friday. The Gophers won the game 75-73.
#Gophers backup center Matz Stockman was held out of Tuesday’s practice in Dinkytown and is not involved in Wednesday’s session in Des Moines. Coach Richard Pitino said Stockman is a “game-time decision,” but it looks doubtful.

Greder also reported that Stockman was held out of Minnesota’s practice on Wednesday.
After several Gophers played a majority of the minutes during its three-game run in the B1G Tournament last week, a lack of depth could be an issue.
Stockman has been a role player off the bench for the Gophers this season. The 7-foot center is averaging three points, 2.1 rebounds and nearly a block per game on the year. Stockman is also averaging just under 11 minutes per contest.
