Report: Maurice Linguist pulling Minnesota assistant to be strength coach at Buffalo
Maurice Linguist recently took the head coaching job at Buffalo, and a new report has linked Linguist to a Minnesota assistant as the next strength coach of the Bulls.
Originally hired by Michigan this offseason to coach defensive backs and serve as co-defensive coordinator, Linguist left for what he described as an “incredible opportunity” at Buffalo. Linguist was the DB coach for the Dallas Cowboys during the 2020 season and previously served as the DB coach at Minnesota in 2017.
It was during the 2017 season that Linguist worked alongside Jeremy Cole, an assistant strength coach for the Gophers. According to Pete Thamel with Yahoo! Sports, Linguist is expected to bring Cole to Buffalo as the new head strength coach of the Bulls:
Sources: Buffalo is hiring Minnesota assistant strength coach Jeremy Cole as the program's new strength coach. Cole previously spent eight years at Rutgers, including four as the program's head of strength and conditioning. He overlapped with new Buffalo Mo Linguist at Minnesota.

Cole has been a part of Minnesota’s staff since 2017. Prior to that, Cole was a long-term part of the staff at Rutgers, leading the strength program for four of those years.
