Report: Minnesota gives injury update on WR Chris Autman-Bell before Week 2 game
Minnesota star receiver Chris Autman-Bell will not play for the Gophers on Saturday despite going through warmups.
He participated in the Gophers’ pre-game warmups before kickoff vs. Miami (Ohio), but Minnesota is opting to give him another week of rest.
NEWS: #Gophers receiver Chris Autman-Bell will NOT play against Miami of Ohio. The U's top receiver went through warm-ups but they will give him another week's worth of rest, with road trip to Colorado up next. This seems to be smart move after Mo Ibrahim was lost for season.

Autman-Bell initially suffered the injury during Minnesota’s fall camp. He was a game-time decision vs. Ohio State in Week 1, but wasn’t able to suit up vs. the Buckeyes either.
The Golden Gophers were still competitive vs. OSU, even holding a second-half lead before star running back Mo Ibrahim went out with a leg injury.
Autman-Bell has had a productive career so far for the Golden Gophers. He has 78 catches for 1,250 yards and 6 touchdowns in his career. He’s spent most of his time with Minnesota being overshadowed by former star receiver Rashod Bateman.
Minnesota currently leads Miami (Ohio) 7-0 mid-way through the first quarter.
