A lot of the talk around college football circles right now is about recruiting.

And, rightfully so. But, who goes out and actually does the recruiting?

The team’s coaching staff. On Thursday, a report from Yahoo Sports came out saying that Minnesota is hiring Maine head coach Joe Harasymiak. The position in which Harasymiak will be placed in is reportedly somewhere on the defensive staff.

Harasymiak, 32, just led Maine to a 10-win season and a trip to the FCS semifinals. Maine had never gotten that far in the playoffs before. The team went on to lose to No. 4 Eastern Washington. Maine entered as the No. 7 seed.

Harasymiak was initially hired to be the head coach at Maine in 2015, when he was just 29-years-old. He was the youngest head coach in all of college football.

Prior to his 3-year head coaching stint at Maine, he spent 8 seasons as an assistant.
