Report: Oregon swipes CB coach from Minnesota
P.J. Fleck will soon be on the hunt for a new cornerbacks coach.
On Saturday, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reported that Minnesota cornerbacks coach Rod Chance is headed to Oregon, where he’ll have the same role on Mario Cristobal’s staff. Chance was with the Golden Gophers for just one season.
Chance was previously a defensive analyst at Oregon in 2018 before taking an on-field position on Fleck’s staff last season. According to Feldman, Chance is considered a “fast riser” on the coaching circuit.

Along with Oregon and Minnesota, Chance has also had stops at Southern Utah, Vanderbilt and Rhode Island.
This marks another important change for Minnesota’s staff. After an 11-win season in 2019, those who were on the sidelines for the Golden Gophers last season have been attractive hires across college football.
