Tanner Morgan is in the B1G record book.

On Saturday, Minnesota’s sophomore quarterback put together one of the best B1G performances we’ve seen, at least from an accuracy standpoint. In the B1G opener against Purdue, Morgan completed 21-of-22 pass attempts, which was a 95.5 percent completion rate.

According to BTN Stats Guys, that percentage is the best for any quarterback in the B1G who threw 15 passes or more in a game in history. That’s not a bad record to own at all.

Morgan finished the day with 396 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. He helped lead the Gophers to a 38-31 road victory against Purdue to improve to 4-0 on the year and 1-0 in B1G play.

So, not only did Morgan deliver a performance for the ages, he did it in a road game. That makes the accomplishment even more impressive.

Morgan’s 396 yards ranks seventh in Minnesota history for most passing yards in a game, as well.
