The Norwood Teague situation got even worse on Thursday.

Following the dismissal of the former Minnesota athletic director over sexual harassment claims, senior official Mike Ellis is on leave amid complaints against him, according to the Pioneer Press.

Ellis had a history working alongside Teague. They were in the same department at Virginia Commonwealth University before their time in Minneapolis. According to a report from the Pioneer Press, Ellis was named in five complaints submitted recently through the U’s anonymous reporting system for ethical concerns.

The university asked Ellis to voluntarily take time off. No timetable has been placed on if or when he’ll return to the athletic department.

The report also said that Ellis was investigated in January 2013 following a complaint but was not disciplined for the matter.

Teague resigned on Aug. 7 after two university employees accused him of sexual harassment. Minnesota has still not filled Teague’s opening, and according to university president Eric Kaler, that decision won’t be coming any time soon.

The Gopher football team is set to kick off the 2015 season Thursday night when it hosts No. 2 TCU.
