Minnesota fans are hungry for Golden Gopher football.
Less than two hours after announcing it would permit 10,000 fans inside TCF Bank Stadium for the spring game on May 1, Minnesota revealed that it has already sold out of tickets. The demand comes after the B1G barred fans from attending any football games during the 2020 season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Golden Gophers are hosting their annual spring game on Saturday, May 1 with the event scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. ET. The game will be airing on Big Ten Network, per a school release.

Minnesota’s spring game was wiped out last season because of the pandemic.
Last year, the Golden Gophers finished the season with a 3-4 record, losing close games to Maryland and Wisconsin in overtime. Those results came after an incredible run in 2019, going 11-2 in P.J. Fleck’s third season with the program.
Fleck will be entering his fifth year in the Twin Cities in 2021.
