A Minnesota football legend will be at TCF Bank Stadium on Saturday for Minnesota’s final non-conference matchup against Miami (OH) on Saturday.

Tony Dungy, a former Golden Gopher quarterback and Super Bowl winner, will be in the house Saturday afternoon as Minnesota battles the RedHawks. He will be recognized in the first quarter of the game.

Per Gophersports.com, Dungy returns to Minneapolis to participate in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Hometown Hall of Famer Program. From the website:

Dungy will be in Minneapolis on Friday to participate in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Hometown Hall of Famer program. Dungy will present the “Hometown Hall of Famer” plaque to the University of Minnesota making it the 120th school to become an “Official School of the Pro Football Hall of Fame” by accepting this historical commemorative plaque.

Hometown Hall of Famer is a national program that honors the hometown roots of the greatest heroes of the game with special ceremonies and plaque dedication events in local communities.

Dungy was a member of the Minnesota football team from 1973-1976 and is a member of the Gopher Hall of Fame. He is one of three people to win a Super Bowl as a player and a coach.

Minnesota enters Saturday’s matchup 2-0 on the season.
