It’s been a busy Sunday in the Twin Cities.

Minnesota has added three new members to its 2022 recruiting class (so far) in the morning hours of Father’s Day. Two are listed as cornerbacks and one is a wide receiver. The trio pushes the Gophers up to 11 verbal pledges in the cycle.

First to announce was 3-star cornerback Tariq Watson, a native of Harvey, Louisiana. Florida native and 3-star wide receiver Aidan Gousby was the second to give his verbal commitment and another 3-star defensive back, Rhyland Kelly, also confirmed his pledge to the program.

Not a bad Sunday for P.J. Fleck and his staff.

Watson does not have any ratings from the 247Sports Composite, but he is listed as one of the Top 40 prospects out of Louisiana and is the No. 72 cornerback of the cycle, earning him a 3-star rating. His announcement comes just a few days after making an official visit to Minnesota.

Gousby, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound receiver, is ranked as one of the Top 150 prospects at the wide receiver position in this class. He held nearly 20 offers during the recruiting process. He selected the Golden Gophers over Illinois, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin at the Power 5 level.

Gousby was a two-way player during the 2020 season at Lehigh High School, playing receiver and defensive back.

Kelly is also listed as a defensive back, the second to commit to Minnesota on Sunday, along with Watson. He does not have any 247Sports Composite ratings, but he is listed just outside the Top 100 cornerbacks in the class, coming in at No. 108.

Purdue and Kansas State were the two Power 5 programs to offer Kelly, along with Minnesota.

Minnesota’s 2022 recruiting class is still listed as No. 38 nationally and No. 7 in the B1G, per 247Sports.
