Trill Carter, former Minnesota DL, announces Power 5 transfer destination
Trill Carter announced Monday that he would be staying in a Power 5 conference, committing to Texas as a transfer.
Carter is one of many who took advantage of the spring transfer window, which opened on April 15 and closes on April 30. It allows all players, not just grad transfers and FCS athletes, to enter the portal to look for a new home with immediate eligibility next season.
Now, it looks like Carter will be on Texas’ last ride in the Big 12 before their move to the SEC the season following next.

Carter played 4 years with the Gophers, taking advantage of the Covid-19 eligibility rule for an extra season in college football.
Trill started all 13 games for Minnesota in 2022, totaling 19 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2 TFL. The 6-2, 310-pounder chose the Longhorns over Illinois, Arkansas and Ohio State.
