Could the Big Ten be building for a second upset on Saturday?

No. 24 Minnesota is up at home 30-23 on No. 7 Michigan on Saturday afternoon. Just earlier in the day, No. 21 Ohio State upended No. 14 Illinois.

The halftime score was certainly an eye-opener around the Big Ten. Michigan is 11-0 and 6-0 in the Big Ten, the only remaining undefeated team in the conference.

Despite holding the lead, Minnesota’s halftime stat line is staggeringly ugly. They are 12-of-34 for 35.3 percent from the field and are a shocking 0-for-11 from three-point range.

When was the last time a team missed all 11 of their attempts from behind the arc and were up at halftime over a top 10 team? Turnovers, Michigan had 11 of them in the first half and Minnesota just three turnovers, played a big part in the Wolverines being down at the half and negating some bad shooting from the home team.

The Golden Gophers came into the game 10-4 (3-4 in the Big Ten).

On January 6, Michigan emphatically beat Minnesota 82-57 in Ann Arbor.
