WATCH: Minnesota unveils latest new helmet with intense hype video for Week 3

Minnesota is gearing up for its third game of the season, and the Gophers will be rocking another new look in the game with Georgia Southern.

P.J. Fleck’s squad has certainly developed a clutch gene through two weeks of the season, but a comfortable victory would certainly be a welcome sight in Week 3. The Gophers won the first two games by a total of 10 points, including a win in double overtime against Fresno State.

As Minnesota gets set for Week 3, Minnesota Football dropped an intense hype video Friday evening. It is the perfect way to get ready for Saturday’s kickoff, and Minnesota also teased a new helmet in the video.

The helmet is a two-sided maroon dome with gold paint and facemask. On the right side of the helmet is the traditional gold “M” logo, but it is the left side that is unique. The left side features a gold outline of a gopher with the maroon helmet making up the face of a gopher.

Here’s a screenshot of the gopher logo:

It looks like the Gophers are pairing the new lid with their maroon uniform and gold pants. This is a seriously fresh look.
