Daniel Faalele is the biggest guy in the game, maybe not by name recognition, but certainly by size. And P.J. Fleck utilized that massive frame in a unique way during Minnesota’s spring game on Saturday.

With Team Maroon knocking on the door of the end zone, Faalele — who stands 6-foot-9 and weighs 400 pounds — lined up at running back out of the shotgun, took a handoff and bulldozed his way across the goal line. He actually carried the entire defense into the end zone.

On Saturday, he was Minnesota’s version of William “The Fridge” Perry.

That play makes you wonder: is Fleck going to use Faalele’s massive size in goal line situations in the fall? That would be incredibly fun to watch, and almost impossible for defenses to stop.

Faalele has made tremendous progress on the offensive line early in his career with the Golden Gophers. We’ll see if Fleck ever puts him at running back when the season kicks off.
