Minnesota started off fast against Nebraska. Really fast.

Running back Rodney Smith returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown to give the Gophers an early 7-0 lead over the Huskers. And he made it look so easy.

With a huge hole in the middle of the field, Smith turned on the jet packs and left every Husker in the dust on his way to the end zone.

The kickoff return was the first special teams touchdown of the season for Minnesota and was the fourth total touchdown for Smith this season.

Smith had just 130 kickoff return yards coming into Saturday’s game.
