As the season creeps closer, there’s one really cool aspect of college football that we’ll start to see more and more: scholarship videos.

Over the last few years, college football coaches have made it a point to have elaborate celebrations when announcing a walk-on player has earned and received a scholarship. It’s a really awesome aspect of the sport that never gets old.

Recently, Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck put Gophers senior punter Jacob Herbers on scholarship, showing a one-minute clip that involved several former teammates and former Colts punter Pat McAfee.

Former Minnesota specialists Peter Mortell, Payton Jordahl, Ryan Santoso, Justin Juenemann and Emmit Carpenter were all involved with the video, which can be viewed below:

Herbers will be a redshirt senior this fall and was the team’s punter and place holder last fall. He averaged 41.24 yards per punt and was an Academic All-B1G selection.
