For the second straight week, Minnesota trailed at halftime.

This week had a better ending, though.

The Golden Gophers came back to beat Purdue 20-13 in West Lafayette Saturday afternoon. They trailed 13-10 at halftime but scored 10 unanswered points after the break to finish off the comeback.

It ends a rough streak for PJ Fleck’s team: 17 straight losses when trailing at halftime, dating back to 2017. That includes last week’s loss to Bowling Green, which had lost 10 straight games to FBS schools before that game. Fleck said he didn’t know about the streak when asked about it in his postgame press conference, but sure seemed happy it ended.

He discussed his team’s response to that loss to Bowling Green after Minnesota’s “gutsy” win over Purdue.
