Minnesota QB Zack Annexstad underwent surgery on an injured foot Wednesday, and he reached out to fans following the procedure.

Annexstad sustained the non-contact foot injury late last week. Unfortunately, the severity of the injury is still unknown, but at least the surgery part of his recovery is over with.

He took to Twitter Wednesday evening to say that surgery went well and thanked those who have reached out after the injury. Fortunately, it sounds like Annexstad is in good spirits despite the setback:

Annexstad threw for 1,277 yards and nine touchdowns with seven interceptions last season. His injury likely opens the door for Tanner Morgan to start for the Gophers in Week 1.
