Nebraska’s Cam Jurgen is off the board.

Friday night, the Huskers center was selected at No. 51 overall and was the first player from Nebraska taken. He was picked by the Philadelphia Eagles midway through the second round.

A 6-foot-3, 290-pound center, Jurgens was thought to be a second- or third-round pick in this year’s draft. He’s the second center from the B1G to be taken this year, following Iowa’s Tyler Linderbaum (No. 25).

Jurgens was a third-team All-B1G selection following the 2021 season. He started in 31 career games for the Huskers, missing just one contest during the pandemic-hit 2020 campaign.

In addition to his All-B1G accolades last season, Jurgens was also a three-time Academic All-B1G selection. He was one of the top available centers in this year’s draft and will now look to carve out a significant role for himself with the Eagles.
