2024 edge from Texas no longer committed to Nebraska, will sign elsewhere
Jaxon Lee will be taking his talents to a different program after decommitting from Nebraska on Thursday, per Lincoln Journal Star’s Luke Mullin.
Tulsa where Lee now plans to sign, according to the report. The Golden Hurricane were one of his offers along with Georgetown, North Texas, Nebraska, Stephen F. Austin, Tennessee State, Memphis, and Texas Tech.
Lee is a 3-star edge rusher out of Frisco (Tex.) Lone Star. The 247Sports Composite rates him as the No. 80 edge rusher in the 2024 class. He comes in at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds.
Lee had been committed to Nebraska since Oct. 29. The Huskers still have Willis McGahee IV, a 3-star edge rusher out of Columbus in Miami, Florida, verbally pledged in the 2024 recruiting class.
Matt Rhule ended his 1st year in Lincoln with a 5-7 record. The Huskers have not been to a bowl game since the 2016 season. Nebraska was 5-3 heading into the month of November and lost 4 games in a row to end its hopes of reaching a bowl.
